Travel Editor

Winter 2024-Present

Letter of Recommendation

The Edge is Elon University’s student-run lifestyle magazine, delivering content on familiar topics from a new angle. The magazine has a reader-first approach and sections include: fashion, beauty and wellness, and travel.

For the past year, I have written for print and online. In fall 2024, I was promoted to Travel Editor of The Edge. As editor, I lead and mentor a team of student writers-editing their work, guiding article development, and creating compelling narratives. By tracking global travel trends across social media platforms, I produce engaging, curiosity-driven content with a unique perspective and love for travel.

Writing for Print

Following a competitive application process, I was selected as one of twelve writers for the Fall 2024 Print Edition: “Blurring Reality.” I was assigned with pitching story ideas, all with corresponding mood boards and a break down of my vision.

When “What Happens When I Leave my Glasses at Home” was accepted as my final idea, I wrote the story, as well as chose my visual preferences for the piece, collaborating with layout designers and photographers to bring it to life.

All the while, I was continuing to write for online and lead a team of fellow students.
